Coolie Kids In Paradise

Two pics i took while on vacation at Nainital on 10th April 2005 were of these coolie kids.These kids sling those ropes on their head and carry unimaginable load on their back and get 5-10 rupees for their labour.

They look cheerful and cute in the picture but were very depressing sight to see in the paradise of affluents. It was evening time and after hard days work these kids were sitting on the side of a busty road and were making sound of the puppy or kitten in pain whenever any car passed. and thus fooling then in thinking that some dog or cat has come under wheel. and they were having great fun doing that.

The rope you see in thier hand is thier load carrier. they sling it on head and carry load on back, thier head painfully bend under pressure. They get 5-10 ruppies ( roughly one fifth of dollar) to carry load for more than 2 km uphill.

Reading Ayn Rand

Love is absolutely volitional, without any reason. It is not guided by any requirement but of heart. It does not follow social or any other norm, but of its own. In fact you cant be in love or rather be blessed enough to feel it if you think of its pro and cons even for a second.

While reading Ayn Rand I wondered how much reason she might have applied in falling in love with Frank O'Connor, her husband. She applied None! Because that's what she did with her characters. First meeting with the protagonist in both of her Novels The Fountainhead and We The Living is taken from her real life encounter with her husband Frank O'Connor. It was one of the things, which she preached because she herself lived it, beside her life's principle of Objectivism and Individualism. She (and her characters) loved without reason, on volition of her (ditto for her charterers) heart without thinking about any other aspect of love but love itself.

And one can see that in We The Living Leo obviously was not the right choice since he becomes morally corrupt in the face of hardship he has to endure, while the communist fellow Andrei was righteous but was living with corrupt principle entire his life, that is communism. And the female protagonist Kira is torn between these two people. But then Ayn Rand also believed in a choice that goes both way and hence the female character in all three novels of her chose both of the loves in their lives, not just one. She never believed love can be so trifle to get stiffed by something like morality, that is creation on human mind as everything else on this planet, a thing for self gratification for every body bound in the statics of social norms.

In The Fountainhead the psychological plane on which love is portrayed is very much complex. Here in this novel both Howard Roarke & Dominique Francon have correct moral and principle compass yet the too much of correctness in Roark makes her live with other two guys who again have some or other of their principles compromised.

Suffering seems to be the one center stage of her plot where love gets purified or it gets chance to prove itself being something which surpasses petty things like practicality and other vagaries of life.

And then when she preaches the Virtue of Selfishnes again a very much misunderstood notion she also says that anybody who compromises with something that gives him happiness is not a right person to trust.

Conspiracy

i an getting bugged by way politics and media feed each other. You open any news channel (in india) you will find it crammed with politcal news...nothing constructive. and our so called intellectuals will hold endless debate with these politicians avaoiding all critical issues and thier personal misadventures and be goodie goodie to them. even people here in india have got used to such things and everything ...well just goes on.

Don Quixote of La Mancha or Macha-la

Well ! i have no specific reason to choose this name apart from the single most glaring fact that i am influenced by the creation of Cervantes, and it was endorsed by my girlfriend when she created an email in the name of Dulcinea Del Toboso, the woman whom Quixote called "mistress of my soul" because i have an email add with yahoo as "quixot_in" (e is missing since lots of people had taken the original name with other variety).
